Dutch Masters Foundation

A Unique Partnership for Dutch Artistic Excellence
For more than fifteen years, the Dutch Masters Foundation (DMF) has been dedicated to supporting three iconic Dutch cultural institutions: Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT), the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, and the Mauritshuis. Based in London, the foundation brings together art lovers, philanthropists, and businesses who share a passion for Dutch art and culture.

DMF was established to promote the development of art, music, and dance in the Netherlands and beyond. What makes the foundation unique is the collaboration between three leading cultural organisations. By joining forces, they reach an international audience and create exceptional opportunities for support, engagement, and cultural exchange.

Supporting Talent and Artistic Innovation

Thanks to the generosity of its donors, DMF has made a wide range of projects possible over the years. For NDT, this has included support for talent development programmes that introduce young dancers, emerging creators, and new generations of audiences to contemporary dance. In addition, the Foundation plays an important role in fostering artistic innovation. Its support enables NDT to continue investing in new artistic voices, pioneering productions, and creative research that drive the development of contemporary dance. In recent years, DMF has supported productions including Figures in Extinction by Crystal Pite and Simon McBurney/Complicité for NDT 1, and Without Walls by Yoann Bourgeois and Marie Bourgeois for NDT 1.

In 2026, DMF is supporting the creation of Kill your Darlings by Marne van Opstal and Imre van Opstal for NDT 2, as well as a new work by Noé Soulier for NDT 2, premiering in autumn 2026.

An engaged community of art lovers

Donors to the Foundation enjoy access to an inspiring programme of exclusive events, ranging from visits to private collections and museums to special gatherings celebrating dance, music, and visual arts. Each year, DMF also hosts a special gala event in London that brings together its three cultural partners. These activities offer a unique opportunity to experience Dutch artistic excellence up close and to connect with fellow supporters who share a passion for the arts.

Supporting NDT from the United Kingdom

For supporters based in the United Kingdom, DMF provides an attractive way to support NDT. Through the Foundation, donors contribute directly to NDT's artistic ambitions, talent development initiatives, and international profile. At the same time, they help promote Dutch art and culture to audiences around the world.

Dutch Masters Foundation operates under the patronage of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the United Kingdom and was co-founded with the support of Princess Mabel of Orange-Nassau. Over the years, the Foundation has grown into an important network of committed arts supporters who believe in the power of culture to inspire, connect people, and open up new perspectives. DMF is registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales (no 1140360).
