For La Veronal, he serves as director, choreographer, and designer of sets, lighting, and costumes. He has travelled the world presenting his works at festivals, theatres, and on international stages. His most recent creations for La Veronal, Opening Night (2021), Sonoma (2020), and Pasionaria (2018), explore contemporary humanity, its fears, and the questions surrounding the current state of the world and fate.

Alongside his work with La Veronal, Morau is frequently invited by companies, festivals, and theatres to develop or present new creations, including the Avignon Festival, Sadler’s Wells, Romaeuropa Festival, Tanz im August, among many others. He has also been a guest choreographer for numerous internationally renowned companies, such as Nederlands Dans Theater, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, and GöteborgsOperans Danskompani. In the Netherlands, Morau previously created works for Scapino Ballet Rotterdam.

Morau is known for his visually striking productions, often described as surrealist landscapes. As the youngest ever recipient of Spain’s National Dance Award, his intriguing movement language forms part of a heritage rooted in abstract movement and physical theatre, fused into a surreal and haunting whole.

his language was first introduced to NDT audiences in the 2021–2022 season, when he made his debut for NDT 2 with Folkå. This was later followed by the powerful Horses (2024) for NDT 1.

“Being part of NDT’s history fills me with gratitude and pushes me toward the desire to continue challenging this wave we call the present, with the responsibility of being witnesses of our world here and now, generating art that interpellates us as a society and as human beings.”
